There is not a lot I can say about this other than, wow this is great. Nao protects us from stuff that can harm us.

Carlitos over at Carlitos' Contraptions has been working with the Google Speech to Text engine. He has successfully integrated Nao with the Google service providing the robot with, what I believe, is a fundamental feature. The ability to convert a whole conversation to text.
Why is this so important? From my point of view, this facility will enable the creation of truly conversational robots. Conversational robots will provide the key feature to allow robots to be integrated into our daily lives. I don't what to have to type into a keyboard my request for the local weather, I want to say to the robot, "what's the weather like today?" and for my 'droid friend to be able to know what I am asking. Think of it like SIRI with legs.
Carlitos has provided the first implementation of the base functionality. Now it is up to the rest of us to use this great feature within our Nao behaviours. Here is Carlitos' video of the feature working on Nao.

Well Taylor has done it again. Here is the first full demo of his teleoperated Nao. In this case using Nao to brush his cat. I think the video says it all.
